Trailer: “PressPausePlay” Dokumentation

Die Dokumentation “PressPausePlay” kommt mit dem verheißungsvollen Untertitel “A film about fear, hope and digital culture” und thematisiert die Kreativtät in unserem digitalen Zeitalter. Konkreter die Auswirkungen der digitalen Revolution auf die kreative Welt, mit all ihren neuen, vielfachen Möglichkeiten und auch bedrohlichen Neuerungen, die heute noch jeden zu einem Filmemacher, Fotografen, Musiker oder Künstler machen.

“The digital revolution of the last decade has unleashed creativity and talent of people in an unprecedented way, unleashing unlimited creative opportunites. But does democratized culture mean better art, film, music and literature or is true talent instead flooded and drowned in the vast digital ocean of mass culture? Is it cultural democracy or mediocrity?

This is the question addressed by PressPausePlay, a documentary film containing interviews with some of the world’s most influential creators of the digital era.”

Zu Wort kommen unter anderem Bill Drummond von The KLF, Scott Belsky der Gründer von Behance, Seth Godin, Hot Chip, Moby, Lykke Li, Robyn, der Gründer von The Hype Machine Anthony Volodkin oder Napster Mitbegründer Sean Parker. Gedreht wurde die Dokumentation von David Dworsky und Victor Köhler, die unmittelbar als Kreative unserer Zeit, sich als Betroffene an das Projekt “PressPausePlay” gemacht haben.

“After working in the creative industry for a number of years we got a bit tired of the loud complaints regarding the disappearance of business models due to pirating and continuing profit losses. These subjects had been discussed to death at media panels and in newspapers around the world. We felt that an important part of the story had been lost – the unprecedented cultural impact. Sure, there are lots of industry problems caused by technological innovation but there are also enormous new opportunities for creation,”

Premiere wird der Film auf dem South By Southwest Film Festival in Texas, im März feiern. Anschließend hoffen wir auch baldige Veröffentlichung im Internet. Einen Teaser-Trailer, mit noch ein bißchem anderem Material gibt es nach dem Jump…
